Yes, this is how busy I am with all of these buyers these days is I am now using competitors data.  Well, not really, this is supplied by the Center for Regional Studies at University of Nevada Reno Nevada with Coldwell Banker Plummer & Associates logo and graphics/spreadsheet on it.  It’s a little confusing sometimes as there are two Coldwell Bankers in Reno, ours of course is Coldwell Banker Village Realty.

 These guys (U.N.R. folks) generally don’t put a rosy spin on it and some Realtors have argued that they actually in fact run a little negative.  Again, as I have mentioned before, there are more than one way to look at these numbers, this is just one of them.

 One of the reasons that the Reno Sparks Board of Realtors and many of the Reno Brokers with Reno Real Estate companies aren’t fans of (UNR stats) is this is the information that the local paper (Reno Gazzette Journal, RGJ.com) refers to.  Of course, buyers will take the negative information and leverage it to their advantage, myself included when I continue to buy in this current Reno market. 

People ask me a lot which numbers and area statistics I am watching now, they are surprised when I tell them; not as much in Reno as the Bay Area.  My research has indicated a firming of the market in San Jose, Marin, and some of the other premium areas.  I look at our own Coldwell Banker California statistics and network with many of them, it really helps having connections down there. 

 Anyone investing in Reno Nevada real estate should know that; so goes the bay area, so goes Reno.  What about Sacramento you say?  Even though we do get some relocation’s from there,  it tends to be not as much of a change for the buyers (1.5 hours away) and therefore demographically, I don’t count it in as much as the Bay and Southern California for example.  One thing to note of course is that sometimes regarless of location, they come here to save taxes be it business’s, retirees or the work force.
