The rumors have been around for a while but unconfirmed.  I had somewhat of a confirmation early last week but wanted to hear it from her.

A little about Diane Cohn of Chase International, Reno Realty Blog,  Chase Nation, a Ning social networking platform they tweaked for Reno, Tahoe real estate:

Yes, Diane did come from California and was at the time a poster child of what drove this market and in some sense reflects a current reverse demographic trend; people (especially professionals) try an area like Reno and decide financially etc. it doesn’t make sense so they return or move elsewhere.

We met at the Coldwell Banker Village Realty, Reno Nevada’s water cooler when Robin Coons was working for Coldwell Banker Village Realty’s Galena office and she was on her team.  Both Robin Coons and Diane Cohn relocated to Chase International, Reno, Lake Tahoe working for Shari Chase the owner of Chase International.

Even as Robin Coon’s  assistant she seemed to have the energy and drive that after 20 years in the business I can see the dreamers from the getter’s.  I was intrigued about her knowledge of tech; we discussed blogs, websites, and other web 2.0 applications.  All of the stuff I was trying to get up to speed on, she was already down with.

After relocating to Chase Internationals Reno office, she started the Reno Realty Blog.  It seemed to gain instant success as her writing skills and statistics were unlike anything the Reno real estate community had ever seen.  She battled it out with a lot of negative comments and defended her position numerous times.  I have had some of those characters on my site at www.renohomevoices.com and www.renohomestalk.com myself and after trying to moderate them with no luck, told them to beat it as I try and keep it positive, she welcomed them and duked it out with them.

The good news is that Guy Johnson of Chase International Reno will be taking over the helm and JoAnn Corriera of Chase International will be assisting her clients.  JoAnn Corriera used to work for Prudential Realty Reno Nevada and is a very seasoned and a smart agent (like Diane Cohn and Guy Johnson as well).

Diane, my hats off to you for providing timely, relevant Reno real estate home information that was not just a copy and paste of something or a regurgitation of the daily news feed.  We are all going to miss you, you are a true pioneer and will go down in blogging history (similar to Rudolf).
