There has been a landmark Nevada Supreme Ct. (Court) decision in favor of the Incline Village group who sued to lower their Incline Village Washoe County Nevada property taxes. The local North Lake Tahoe Bonanza in Incline Village Nevada has a good article on it:

Enclosed is the actual Nevada Supreme Court/Incline Village Homeowners to lower their Washoe County property taxes document:

The Incline Village Homeowners who fought this David and Goliath battle is called; The Village League Tax Revolt Committee, their website is:

There is some great tax information and Nevada tax lowering forms on there for do it yourselfers who want to lower their property taxes and not have a property tax lowering service do it. I can assist anyone with links and forms if needed as well.
This will more than likely set off a chain reaction of sorts as the Washoe County Tax Assessor like many Homeowners (who purchased Washoe County homes) assessed many homes at the top of the market. Even my own home is in the appeals process to save around $2,500. per year.
I don’t think we will have a proposition 13 type of shortfall and see Mello Roos districts forming. It is unfortunate for the services that depend on taxes, however, we are all just trying to survive at this point and need to save as much as possible.
So, this is your silver lining somewhat with this market if you are one of the ones that can save on a reassessment and lowering of your Nevada property tax.
